Life In A Home

A poem was written by a lonely old lady

After 3 bad falls in my lovely quiet home,

I felt never again must I roam the halls alone,

So into Rusthall Lodge, I went,

Time passed so slowly while I spent,

A reasonable time there spent - only three weeks,

It felt like more than that as I speak,

The staff there were very nice

The nationalities are many, like mixed spice

I know now why its called Rusthall lodge,

Some food is Lovely while some is downright stodge!

Because of the wretched Covid grouse

They built that glass ''house''

Where their visitors sit near a glass screen,

The ''prisoners'' sit on the other side where they can be seen

One day I went to the lounge where our

The excellent maintenance man was to perform

He was amazing singing 12 songs

All off by heart, he was surly ''on form'',

Another day I went to 'Exercise with Henry',

Where a few of us ladies joined in with the gentle on the screen exercises to music - See what I mean?!

Now I shall be moving to pastures new come Tuesday morning,

When i go perhaps they'll all go ''Phew''!
