Paint a picture, oh master of illusion,
With colours bold, in grand confusion.
Weave a tapestry of intricate lies,
Where truth is hidden, veiled in disguise.
Tell me I'm beautiful, beyond compare,
That my flaws are simply not there.
Feed my ego, stroke my pride,
In your fantasy realm, let me reside.
Lie to me, oh sweet deceit,
With words that wrap around, complete.
Tell me tales so soft and kind,
Make fantasies within my mind.
Lie to me with whispered sighs,
A symphony of falsehoods, no surprise.
Let the melodies of deception play,
In this world of make-believe, I'll stay.
Convince me that the world's a dream,
A fairyland where nothing's as it seems.
Lie to me, and I'll pretend to believe,
In this fabricated reality, I'll cleave.
But in the dark corners of my soul,
A whisper lingers, takes its toll.
For deep down, I long for truth,
To break free from this web of untruth.
So lie to me, but know this well,
The truth will rise, like tolling bell.
And when the charade finally falls,
I'll emerge stronger from these deceitful walls.

Ever since my small writing beginnings, when I started writing on Vocal in February 2021, I had been in a truly terrible slump & funk when it came to my writing. I had so many unfinished projects, ideas, half finished manuscripts and first chapters that were going nowhere.
