Lie to me

Say this isn't just a collision

two bodies mistaking proximity for fate,

forged by the breath of want and longing,

sealed by loneliness and isolation.

.

Say this isn't just another

"get in, get off, get out"

kind of night.

That there's truth in the feeling,

not just the bodies moving as one.

.

Say there is more to this

beyond the breaths and moans

lifted off the walls and the rumble of the bed

When your hand grips my thigh

or chest

or neck

.

Say there is more than just teeth, tongue, and nails,

more than two bodies forgetting

where one ends and the other begins.

.

There has to be more than this

Right?

Maybe?

No?

Well—

lie to me anyway.
