quiet love

LETTERS

I've written many letters;

Sprayed perfume on them, too.

The notes were all the same, dear

Saying I love you.

*

You never even answered,

Not a letter or a call.

Do you even know that I exist?

Do you know I'm here at all?

*

Someday perhaps you'll answer.

If courage doesn't fail -

I'll take all of these letters

And put them in the mail!
