Letter to the Unwise

Tonight void of stars in the midnight sky

Just the same an empty head

Not remembering the last time she'd written him a letter dutifly expected to be read

The reason he stayed with her

He would always ask why

For every time he found that envelope in his post

He would wait for the night then drive up the hillside overlooking the coast

Each time it became harder to handle

When he would sit in his car and prepare himself for the latest news

Was she coming home or informing him of her latest scandal?

Every letter was just to sing him the blues of how everyone does her wrong but she's going to stay strong

As long as he stays by her side

Unfortunately ensnared by her enticing looks and captivating lies ten miles wide
