Letter to the Ring

Letter series

By Harydo NeonPublished 4 months ago • 1 min read

Bright light? I'd grown used to the evening's dawn

Walking paths alone, taking my seasons for a long run

But grace had a way of breaking the walls I had put up

You snuck up into my life, like the sun at dawn

One look at you and all I want is you forever in my sight

Sunbeams in your eyes, turning my darkest hours to light

I thought I knew love till you showed me something new

Love that mirrors God's heart, selfless, patient, deep and true

I have felt your love expressed within every prayer

I do feel unworthy sometimes, pile of dirt in multiple layers

My strength withers next to you with my spirit, soft and still

Melting when I hear you declare positive words , within God's will

I am trying to make sure that finger doesn't stay naked for long

My forever muse for when my heart pens down its thoughts

Calling you mine ?

A blessing in itself

I could say "I love you" a million times and it still wouldn't be enough

I could stand at the highest point and scream it at the top of my lungs

Forever still feels inadequate in how much time i want to spend with you

Me , you , in an apartment , cozy with background rhythm and blues

I don't make promises lightly, a part of me you already know

There is a story here, one I am curious to read the more it unfolds

Promising to offer you the very best, hand and soul,

To cherish you, the love that helped in making me whole.
