Let Me Stay A While

ever since you left i have been set free

from the weight of guilt that has been holding me

to be safe from the thunderstorm

to now see a whole new life

what once was drab and grey

now brings color into my life

i am here to tell a story

that no one wants to tell

but that can wait a moment

i want to live just a few more seconds

in this peaceful spell

and when its over

know that i have learned

all i needed from that moment

and move on with a new world view

and if we cross paths again

now or in the next life

know that there was nothing you could do to hurt me in the end

the pain does not last forever

of this i can promise you

and now matter how acute the sting

know we who were wronged can push through

we are more resilient than what meets the eye

know that we were made for more

than all the struggle and pain in this earthly world of lies

we are better than these circumstances

dictate and or tell

the reason may not yet be clear

but know there is master plan

and if you don't believe me

i address the reader now

you are stronger than the suffering you are going through

you can overcome it

you can push through

do not be afraid to ask for help

do not be afraid to let people in

we are not meant to walk this life alone

there is always one that will be a friend

it may be hard to imagine

a world where we can live in peace

a type of secure that has long since been erased

there can be a hope

if you allow it to enter

i know we only have so much to give

but do not lose any hope you can find

you have not yet or you would have lost your mind

all is not lost

you are strong enough

you are good enough

you are courageous enough

look at all you have been through

you are a survivor

a warrior

a king or queen in your own right

you are beautiful even though you may feel as if your wounds have left a scar

they tell a story of your courage

you are kind even when the world has stopped being kind to you

it shows your endurance and perseverance

you are a light

illuminating what can and is good in the world

we have lost so many good people to what they have not been able to control

do not let the world lose one more good person

we need more light

we need more strength

we need more courage

we need more love

we need you

you are so loved
