Shelter And Sanity In Memories Of The Past

You there

Me here

Difficult to bare

Aging every year

In dreams appear all the longing

Places and people like a wound

Every sip is more a prolonging

Nights decrepit in state so moribund

The creek that so gently took my youth

Distracted by wisdom

Awake a bottle for the pain to soothe

Bliss in some

Pillow knows the wash of tears

Ants, roaches, and spiders perhaps do too

Oh please paralysis bring the fears

Replace this pain and nostalgia with a boo!

The Old barn no longer there

Beloved too are gone

The creek disappeared without care

If only a new sentiment at dawn

Older now it doesn’t end

I return to you my love

Yet again the heart must depend

If only I could leave it all below to above

To my chest I hold your hat so unfashionable

The scent of cotton and your hair nourishes

A pandemic tore us and my concern unimaginable

Two apart while the system flourishes

I’m north

You are South

I cannot go forth

The taste of your mouth

Separated by something called a Visa

Time passes and it feels like Hasta La Vista

Cannot continue anymore

It’s midnight and I am hungry since four

In the kitchen toys so rife

Stove, cleaners, and of course the knife

But no there is still hope

In my dreams I do cope

Wishing it was everlasting

Mornings come help me subtracting

It is one

Wish to see you tonight again my hon

In our home

Signing off here your beloved gnome
