Lives Forever, In My Memories

Where does it go, I'd like to know,

the time, as it flies by us.

Years melt away like springtime snow,

and tears fall, like late molasses.

The little hands, once fit in mine,

like an acorn in its shell.

Has grown like ivy on the vine,

bringing a bittersweet farewell.

Though grown and gone, it's not for good,

another passage we must walk through.

Reminiscing your childhood,

letting go, takes a little getting used to.

To watch you now, ready to fly,

so proud of who you are.

Tears flow freely from my eyes,

as I watch you pack your car.

Seasons of a life, they say,

I once was in your shoes.

I'll take the moments left today,

and spend them all with you.
