Leave My Picture Standing

(A reminder of what was)

Leave my picture standing

A memento of what once was,

A time of love and caring

A reminder of what once was.

Sometimes it's easy to forget

What we once had.

The world can be full of regret

And sometimes downright sad.

Too often, we get swept away

And forget the things we once had.

Sometimes you need a few years

To realise what it was you had.

And when the feeling disappears

But you feel lonely and sad,

Gaze upon that photo there,

What we had was not that bad.

We were building a life together

Then things started to fall apart.

Said we would be in love forever

You will always have my heart.

So gaze upon that picture,

Maybe there is still a spark.

So, leave my picture standing

A memento of what once was,

A time of love and caring

And remember what once was.

Till next time,

Calvin
