Lavender
A love poem
Loving you is like
lavender on a spring breeze
comforting my soul.
A love like late night summers
when we were kids,
fireworks & ice pops
and lightning bugs in jars.
You’re a core memory
that keeps evolving.
You’re the home
I longed for.
Home is not a place
but a person who makes you whole.
Loving you is like
living in the end of a romantic comedy.
We’re kissing at the top
of the Empire State Building
as the camera pans out
and everything is perfect.
The credits roll
and you’re the lead in the cast of my heart.
