It sleeps in winter,
It wakes on the eve of spring.
A thorn that wounds,
a vine that weaves.
A burst of color, a breath of rain.
Scarlet that burns through gray.
A light that grows,
then wisps away.
That time, relentless, steals its flame—
Only to spark once more.
