Lasso My Love

Fighting for faithfulness on the daily headlines

Back in the saddle again, the sun's burning heart, I wish to win.

Attempting to slip away into her setting habit of such daily occurrence.

Cowboy hat, boots, and chaps, wind cheering on, as it rapturously claps.

Faster, faster, faster racing on, before she disappears again, again, again...

Riding west is best on horses that never grow weary, eyes fierce and teary.

Orange orb so awe strikingly glorious and beautiful,

never to burn my body bronze and sear my skin too deeply.

Sweaty back, forsaking and shunning the shadow-lands.

Reaching back for lusty lasso, swinging it skillfully through the dusty air,

sun caught tightly in lasso's grip, finally...

and never to break the bonds of love, that struggle faithfully and daily.
