Kings and Queens Do It Too
Just like everyone of us do

Kings and Queens Do It Too
Kings may wear their golden crowns.
Queens may hide their tears inside.
They smile beneath the palace lights.
Yet still have feelings they must hide.
A palace cannot guard the heart.
A diamond cannot heal its pain.
For even kings and queens can cry.
And sometimes wish for love again.
Kings can make mistakes in life.
Queens can choose the wrong hearts too.
They learn that wealth cannot protect.
From things that ordinary people do.
A king may lose the one he loves.
A queen may wonder where love went.
They may appear so strong outside.
While hiding tears that were once spent.
They dance beneath the bright lights.
They smile while music fills the room.
Yet underneath the royal clothes.
Their hearts can carry silent gloom.
A throne can never purchase love.
A crown can never make it stay.
For love can come and love can leave.
No royal power can make it obey.
They laugh and argue, then forgive.
They make mistakes and feel regret.
For kings and queens are human too.
They carry things they can’t forget.
They may possess the finest things.
Yet still miss someone they once knew.
For love is never bought with gold.
And royal hearts can break there too.
So when you see a royal crown.
Remember what lies underneath.
For kings and queens can fall in love.
And kings and queens can hurt like you.
