Keep Toxicity at Bay
Get off your high horse
Tit for tat.
I find myself
Struggling with loneliness
But what cuts deeper
Is that when
You do find some people
To share love, chatter and joy with
There will be some
Who are just waiting
To rain on your parade.
These people
Who don't include
But want to be included
Who don't enjoy
But can't see you happy
Who have enough
But want more
More of what they don't own
They don't deserve
For there is no reciprocity
There is no effort
From their side
But they want you to drop everything
To make sure there are a part of what you do
Even though you have tried to make them a part
Before
And they keep saying no.
Confusion.
To them, I say
Get off your high horse
You are no better than poison.

Very Unique
This is a beautifully created poem that resonates with its reader.
Not to mention confusing. A confusing poison, one that tastes sweet on the tongue but rests bitter in the stomach. Love the poem, Manisha, & resonate thoroughly with it.
One day, they would experience that same poison from someone else. Karma is always watching. Loved your poem!
The other humans can be vexing, can't they?
