JV Gone

verse 1

By Forest GreenPublished 3 months ago • 1 min read

You step in the gym like a team captain, chest puffed out,

Talking that noise about the game that you talk about.

Got the letterman jacket, but the sleeves are completely bare,

Trying out for a legacy that isn't even really there.

You talk a big game, strutting like a five-star recruit,

Sitting on the bench in a dusty-ass warmup suit.

Coach won't even look your way when calling out the squad,

You’re the ultimate liability, playing way too hard.

You think you’re varsity? Boy, you’d get cut from the JV!

Tryna guard the perimeter, looking lazy and heavy.

They wouldn't even hand you a jersey or a clipboard,

You’re the mascot's shadow, getting completely ignored
