Just You and Me

Poem

I don't agree with how they be.

When they talk romantically.

I like to see that intimacy.

So let's make it just you and me.

I won't be free with someone who is clingy.

Won't drink tea with the aristocracy.

There is no we when the rest of them are petty.

So we've got to have it just you and me.

Can you hear the noise of the rowdy boys?

No, you don't because we are no longer their toys.

Can you feel the scold of his tightening hold?

No, you can't because we broke the mould.

I found the key to self-discovery.

It turns so easily in the lock of brutality.

You'll agree that we sussed reality.

For now, it is only just you and me.
