Just one smile
One smile from you
Has so much power
Power and potency
-
Just one smile
One smile from you
Can bring warmth
Warmth when all is cold
-
Just one smile
One smile from you
Would lessen the misery
The misery and pain
-
Just one smile
One smile from you
Brightens the dark
The darkest of days
-
Just one smile
One smile from you
Can make all feel right
Right in the world, our world
-
But, I know
Know that one smile
Is often too hard
Hard because of hurt
-
Trust in tatters
Can it ever be sewn back together?
I live and hope
Hope and keep trying
-
Trying is all
All I can do
To make you smile
Just one smile

This just kind of came to me in one sitting. I seem to like repetition a lot in my poems at the moment. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this one!

Interesting reflection. Good work.
Trust in tatters, can it be sewn back together? Maybe it can but it'll never be the same again. I really loved the repetition too!
When you know you have broken trust with someone & lost that smile which once set the world aright, & how you long for any indication it might return. The bitterness of home as you continue denied, unforgiven, lost.
Beautiful.
Good work.
