Just friends but I want more
Always the friend, a steady hand,
A quiet voice that understands.
A smiling face, a listening ear,
But never the one you hold so near.
I watch the moments slip and fall,
A shadow pressed against the wall.
Hearts entwine and drift away,
While I remain, the one who stays.
A secret kept, a silent sigh,
As love’s warm gaze goes passing by.
I cheer the joy, I hide the ache,
A steady heart that does not break.
No whispered words, no longing glance,
No fleeting brush, no true romance.
Just solid ground beneath your feet,
A friend you always go to meet.
And so I stand, a quiet soul,
A missing piece, an empty hole.
Forever near, forever kind,
But never crossing heart or mind.
Yet still I hope, yet still I dream,
That love may be more than it seems.
Just to hold and make love to you
Is all in this life, I want to do ❤️💔❤️
