Juniper Soul

My sense of pride to be from Mother Earth alongside her unique creatures and to call her home, feeling the calm and grounding amongst my favourite hues of green.

I want to fall

Over and over

A million times

Over a thousand years

Like drops of rain

Renewing, returning

I want to seep

Down deep in the soil

Buried in sin

Blanketed in moss

Covered by shadow

Protected by the canopy

Trampled by life

Surrounded in the quiet

Damp, sickened and sweet

Like sap dripping

On bark, coarsely coated

Honey in the dark

Wings beat on the wind

Lifting boughs, juniper made

Branches tossing wildly

Whistles in petals

Calls carried on currents

Beaks glistened in storms

Washing away pride

Scavenging forest floors

Vines cover my face

Blinded in the sea of her

Plucked, as a stem

Light peeks at this

Renewal, in its cycle

Life drowned in necessity

Peace outlived by her

Falling rain repeats

Droplets wash away pain

Whisk away wanderers

Leave me here to lay with her sages

Sink further into this

My last of my being

Forgotten in haste

Decaying in unity

A likeness of mind

The hive of us thinking

Dreaming of further ventures

Running barefoot on leaves

Crackling beneath me

Soaking fabrics and manes

Chills and gusts rushing me

The chance of you

A lost soul, finding me

Lost and found, again

Relived beyond my sleep

On the floor of her keep

On the breath of her creation

Destined to return to her

Renewed again, one day
