Jumping Over the Rainbow

I'm jumping over the rainbow today,

And chasing the dark little clouds away,

With laughter and sunshine and joy in my heart,

I'm ready to make a wonderful start.

I'll dance with the daisies and sing with the bees,

And swing on the branches of whispering trees,

I'll gather the sunshine and hold it so tight,

And scatter its gold through the darkness of night.

I'll borrow the red from a beautiful rose,

The blue from the river that merrily flows,

The yellow from buttercups shining so bright,

And paint all my troubles with colours of light.

I'll leap over worries and jump over fears,

And wash away sadness and yesterday's tears,

For life is too precious to waste on regret,

There's laughter and happiness waiting for us yet.

I'll ride on a rainbow that stretches so high,

And wave to the birds as they sail through the sky,

I'll dance with the clouds as they drift far away,

And thank all the stars for another new day.

I'll splash through the puddles and laugh in the rain,

And promise myself I won't grumble again,

For even when thunder comes rolling along,

I'll turn all its rumbling into a song.

And when I grow tired, I'll rest for a while,

With dreams in my heart and a great big smile,

For happiness isn't a fortune of gold,

It's loving the life that we're lucky to hold.

So come, take my hand, let your troubles all go,

There's magic and wonder wherever we go,

We'll jump over rainbows, so happy and free,

And treasure the joy of just being me.
