No girls; was promised girls
(at least someone my age I haven't met).

Really, that's the one they picked?
What about these guys
makes anyone think of miners, diggers
(what's a quarry, anyway)?
All out of tune, too. I could do better...
So...why am I still here?

They said we could play today
(me auntie won't like it,
but she got me the guitar, so...).
We at least have
some fans out today. Not a real rock and roll spot, but...
Weird kid...
Haven't I seen him...?
Naah...must be out here
to pick up girls...
But he keeps nodding to our noise (still out of tune).
Wonder if he plays...
