Juggling Love

Also getting good at it

Juggling Love

You toss affection through the air,

a dance of risk and flame.

I catch it, drop it, catch again,

each throw a different name.

We laugh between the slips and falls,

pretend it is all in play.

But even clowns know love can bruise,

when caught the wrong old way.

Still, I would rather fumble joy and pain,

than stand with empty hands.

For juggling love is living full,

and hope is what still lands.

The crowd will cheer, then drift away,

the lights will fade to gray.

But in the dark our trembling hands,

still reach, still want to stay.

Each toss becomes confession’s arc,

each catch a quiet vow.

We balance trust on fragile air,

and learn the rhythm now.

So throw again, though fear may sting,

and let the sparks ignite.

Love’s art is not in catching hearts,

but keeping them in flight.
