Jesus Weeps Real Tears

Jesus Weeps Real Tears

not fake.

he hurts for us each day

He does not pose for the paintings.

He does not glide on air.

He does not blink away a tear

for dramatic flair.

He weeps.

At tombs, at tables,

in gardens where friends fall asleep

while He remains steadfast.

He is here among us—

fully, wholly,

and His tears are real.

Not staged.

Not poetic.

Salt and water, the heavens mix

that stings the eyes and cracks the voice.

He weeps for the girl not waking.

For the boy no one hugs.

For the addict in the alley,

for the woman they mock behind her back.

For a world that keeps shouting,

and will not listen.

He weeps because they do not believe

that love could wear skin,

could sweat and stumble,

could cry for them,

not from a throne

from a place where spit and nails are real.

Jesus weeps real tears,

not the kind that glisten for the crowd.

Not metaphors. Not myths.

Tears like ours real and pain

For ush3criesto fix us.

He wants to make us whole again.
