Morning Warmth

There’s a chill in the air

☕

Raising the hairs on my arms

☕

In goosebumps, bringing about a shiver

☕

My hands grasp and hold warmth

☕

Leaning down, I take a whiff

☕

Feeling small wisps of fragrant steam

☕

☕

A big part of the morning’s

☕

Start as I stand and watch

☕

The wildlife play in the falling

☕

Leaves as a new day begins

☕

I drink my fortitude to wake

☕

Inspiration comes in so many forms

☕

☕

Mine just happens to come percolated

☕

A bean brewed just for drinking

☕

So the day begins in a

☕

Sweater, enjoying the Autumn scene before

☕

Me, as I savor a taste

☕

Sharply bitter, it indulges the senses

☕

☕

Acrid, but yet creamy and sweet

☕

Uplifting my mood, brightening my day

☕

All contained in a small ceramic

☕

Container with a handle I hold

☕

Gingerly in my hands, I sip

☕

The astringent nectar of the gods

Come near, sit a spell, and listen to tales of old as I sit and rock by my fire. I'll serve you some cocoa and cookies as I tell you of the time long gone by when your Greats-greats once lived.
