Jack and the Overboard

Spilled Ink

By Sophia dos RemediosPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

Your eyes move me to the depths of an ocean;

Those eyes that see the depths of me are at sea,

And I float on the mirrors you breathe

Because no, I am found here.

Drift along west, my sweet,

For a month is too far to be seen.

An embrace too dead to be grieved

Leads to fingers on lips, silent kisses...

What happened? We're just treading water,

I'm too weak for this week-

If I dip below, I won't breathe.

Perhaps it's better underneath and

I'll be at home in the blue of the deep.

In the place where Jack and the overboard sleep

I will meet you, submerged in the ocean I weep.
