IT’S OVER NOW

I packed away your letters,
And put them in a box,
I finally stopped pretending,
That love was still enough.

I looked around the room and,
Saw memories everywhere,
But all the things we once had,
Were slowly disappearing there.

I used to wait beside the phone,
And hope you’d call my name,
But now I see the waiting,
Was only causing pain.

I gave you every chance and,
I gave you all my trust,
But love cannot keep living,
When everything turns dust.

I won’t keep asking questions,
That you will never answer,
I won’t keep chasing someone,
Who never wanted forever.

So take away your memories,
And leave me with my own,
I’ve cried enough for someone,
Who made me feel alone.

I won’t say that I don’t miss you,
Because sometimes I still do,
But missing you is different,
From wanting to go back to you.

So this is where I leave you,
No anger and no fight,
It’s over now between us,
And I’m choosing my own life.
