It Will Rain Until You Love Me

The sky learned my sadness too well,

clouds gathering where your name remains,

every day arrives carrying grey

and leaves with heavier rain.

I keep waiting beside old memories,

counting storms instead of time,

hoping one drop reaches your heart

and returns your hand to mine.

You walked away without turning,

left silence standing in your place,

and every street became colder

without the warmth of your face.

People tell me seasons change,

that rain cannot stay forever,

yet they never watched love disappear

and still hoped it could recover.

I speak to windows in the evening,

asking if you miss me too,

the glass stays quiet every night

while rain writes what I cannot do.

Maybe love cannot be borrowed,

maybe hearts choose where they stay,

still my sky refuses sunlight

and sends another storm my way.

If one day you return to me,

I will not ask where you have been,

I will only stand there quietly

and let the blue back in.

Until that day I stay beneath it,

with every storm that passes through—

and somewhere in the falling water

it will rain until you love me.
