It Was Never Meant To Be Easy

Tortoise won the race even though he was slow,

Why do you think you can’t win?

Not everyone can’t reach the zenith,

Is a losers way to console themselves.

You will win,

Is the one you must chant.

It is long journey with bumpy roads,

Nobody said it was smooth.

It has always been like this,

It will always be like this.

It was a bed of thorns,

It was never meant to be easy.

Growing up was always challenging,

It was full of lessons.

It is a day when suddenly,

All the Panchatantra tale made some sense.

Those stories carried a lifetime of values,

Telling us to be aware of the cautions ahead.

Be it a tortoise and a rabbit,

Or that crocodile and monkey.

Those charming fairy tales,

Or those ear soothing Grandma and Grandpa tales.

Every story had an ending,

A common message to tell.

A message for life.
