It Started with a Smile

The Love of my Life

By Frank E RobinsonPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read
Love of My Life

Touched by a smile from across the room

Warming my emotions, dissipating my gloom

I am intrigued, open to receive

That which I hope will not deceive

My heart as I feel alone losing its home

I approach, each step a little unsure

I approach, each step wanting to know more

I approach, what seed will be sown

I approach, still feeling alone losing its home

Side by side, words fail

Side by side, that warm feeling still prevails

Face to face, glances become a magnetic gaze

And I am at once a giddy child and a man amazed

Then we simultaneously we burst into laughter

And without words we knew

Something remarkable was becoming true

As love moved in and alone lost its home

Now it's forty years later

Yet, it still feels the same as the day

I caught your glance from across the room

That sent alone on its way

love poems
