Loathe 'NICE'!!
But love... 'LOATHE'.
NICE is too blah.
A 'nice' dress is bland
Not sparkling like feldspar.
Nice folks will smile on demand.
Never hold a contrary view...
Yes... nice is too much ‘sugar and spice’!
Loathe is an intense emotion, it's true!
I detest, abhor... hate any lies.
Close cousin, 'Hypocrisy' too!
Bullying, joins the grim club.
Though healthy... dark choc'late
Causes me to blub!
It's wrong to hate
But I loathe
Pallid
'NICE'!

Word, words, words... so many beautiful and hideous ones to choose from! But, where are they when you need them??
They are floating around in the fog in my brain.
These two random words came to mind. I love the sound and meaning of the word 'Loathe'... clearly I loathe, poor little 'Nice'!
I attempted to write this poem starting with one syllable on line one, increasing one syllable per line until ten and then decreasing back down to one.

You can’t make someone stay if they want to leave. You can’t make someone who’s pretending to be asleep wake-up. If someone misses you or cares about you, they’ll reach out or show it. If you have love, give it your all; if not, live a fulfilling life on your own. Meeting someone is rare, but leaving is just part of life. Act with confidence to attract the right people. Be kind to others, but don’t fear making mistakes. Unhealthy attachment after a breakup isn’t love; it’s reluctance. If someone takes a long time to reply, they may be busy or with someone else. Love isn’t complicated; falling in love is. Loving someone is more important than falling in love. It’s scarier to love the wrong person than to be single. Life is neither as perfect nor as terrible as we imagine. Find the right person to love or love yourself if you don’t.

She loves me
She loved me. When I was small and my wee stayed to the paper. When I was rumpled skin and floppy big paws and big eyes looking up and waiting for her hands to find me, scooping me up and bringing me into her. And we were happy, so happy, so very, very happy. I was so happy to see her and danced my circles so she'd know how much I wanted nothing more than for her to hold me. I'd wrap, wiggle, wiggle and wrap my growing body with my bestest happy dance, slumping and kerplumping into her warm parts just like she liked me to. She was there and I was there, and we were there together, and it was perfect. Oh, how she loved me! We spent all our time together, playing inside, outside, up, down, going round and round. And she petted me and called me good girl when I made poops, and sometimes when I weed in her front yard or the neighbor's, and I was the best girl. For her, I really was! And she scratched me behind my ears, and it was heaven. I aowooo my joy! And she aowoooed hers too.

Nice is such a.... place holder of a trait isn't it? It's a whole bunch of inoffensive Nothing where a personality ought to be 😁

Oh, this is too cool. I really like the structure you chose, and damn, the comparisons of "nice" to dull things, and the words you chose to illustrate your loath of them, like "pallid" and "feldspar" were fantastic! Great, great entry, Angie!!
