Is It Love, or a Loss of Self?
Love's True Self Reflection
If being with someone stabilizes your emotions, opens your heart, makes you more confident, more cheerful, and more curious to explore the world, then that person is worthy of your love. True love is reciprocal: when you're willing to risk everything for someone, they respond with equal enthusiasm.
A healthy relationship should lead to this: after being with you, I love myself more and more. Not: I love you so much that I lose myself.
At the beginning of a relationship, consider whether you like this person. After a long time together, consider whether you like yourself in the present moment. If you become irritable, humble, or even look down on yourself, this relationship is unsuitable. The purpose of being together is to grow and appreciate each other, not to have your face become one worn down by life's hardships.
I like you, not only because of how you look, but also because of how I look in your eyes: confident, enthusiastic, generous, and full of vitality.
Those who truly love you are willing to give everything they have for you and prove their love with actions. Even when they are busy, they will make time for you and care enough to meet your needs. Such people are worthy of our cherishing and love.
In the eyes of someone who truly loves you, you are not a choice made after seeing all the world's sights and weighing the pros and cons. Instead, after meeting you, the beautiful scenery outside is still eye-catching, but it pales in comparison to the stars in your eyes when you smile.
Good love means you don't have to change for anyone. You can simply be yourself, and someone will love you just as you are. It doesn't matter if you are different from others. They will never think you are childish or unreasonable. You can always be yourself, and those who love you will always love you.
Good love means you see the whole world through one person; bad love means you give up the whole world for one person.
Loving someone is like picking shells on the beach. Don’t pick the biggest or the prettiest one. Just pick the one you like most. Once you pick it up, never go to the beach again.
