Ipsy Blues

The Look: Part One

By BrenPublished 15 days ago 1 min read

it’s not your lips,

(it’s your lips)

it’s not your nose

(it’s your nose)

it’s not your lips

full of promise

it’s not the whispers

the secret

of endless tomorrows

it can’t be your eyes

so full of stars

but it might

it might be your cheeks

softly glowing

as the day rolls through

softly showing

when the day is through

it might be your mouth

it might be your tongue

and those smiles you held

the smiles you showed

they race across your cheeks

they glimmered and glowed

the moon got caught in your hair

a race to the dark

dusk slowly descended

the light of today

faded and ended

those lips

that smile

those eyes

they dared the moon

to come closer

they dared the sky

to even try

from lashes to lips

from your eyes

i couldn’t tell you when

i knew the sky

was gonna fall

underneath

a beige afternoon sun

i was pierced

by rays of beautiful

love poems
