Intertwined

Intermission.

It’s been a while since we’ve been intertwined

And just for that moment

I almost forgot you weren’t again mine

My head on your stomach

Your hands in my hair

Laughing and carrying on

Without a care

Like nothing has changed

Except everything had been rearranged

It’s been a year since we’ve met

And I thought things by now would be a little clearer

But the end result we originally hoped for

Isn’t anywhere near

It’s an interesting web you see

You thought you were stuck

And just wanted to be free

yet we were continuing to sink into the muck

My fingers will continue to trace

Your name etched in my skin

Forever, you’re in my blood

Without end.

So for now my friend, let's be fair

Our story will have a brief pause

Because you and I both know we just need air

But if we ever want to press play again, we must grow and follow His laws.
