International Day of UN Peacekeepers

Upon a day, the world unites, 

To honor those in blue berets, 

Those brave and bold in love and light, 

In peace they serve, in peace they stay.

Their journey starts in lands afar, 

Where sorrow's seed has deeply grown, 

Where war has etched its brutal scar, 

And harmony's sweet song has flown.

With hopeful hearts and hands held high, 

They step where others fear to tread, 

Underneath a foreign sky, 

Where peace is frail, and hope has fled.

Humbled by a noble cause, 

They bear no sword, nor thirst for fame, 

But strive to mend the gaping flaws, 

With only peacekeepers as their name.

For every child who dreams in fear, 

Every mother's silent prayer, 

They stand as guardians sincere, 

Their vow - a sanctuary to bear.

In fiery deserts, icy plains, 

Where silence sings in hallowed halls, 

They rise above the blood and pains, 

And catch the peace before it falls.

Through their eyes, we see the dawn, 

Of a world where love outshines the hate, 

On this day, their tales are drawn, 

Their valor we commemorate.

As the sun sets, stars ignite, 

In the vast and velvet dome, 

They are the torchbearers of the light, 

In our hearts, they find their home.

So here's to them, the brave and true, 

The keepers of the peace we yearn, 

In every corner of the blue, 

Their flame of hope continues to burn.

In honor of this sacred day, 

We raise our voice, our hearts unite, 

In gratitude for those who lay,

For the soldiers of serenity,
