will tell my daughter to run

As fast as she can

When someone asks her to trust them

will tell her to not believe

when they praise her on her appearance

She will know she needs no validation.

I will teach her to love herself,

don't listen to those who are scared of her wings

will tell her to fly among the clouds

with no fear of falling

Because she will know

that her wings are stronger

than any hate that they encounter

They might ask me to hold her back

Call me names for letting her grow

Their cynicism won't reach her

for I'll be her shield

Till the time she builds her own

I'lI tell her to yield her weapon

and not hesitate

I'll tell her to be ready when the liars prostate

Clouds won't diminish her brightness

She will know the sun doesn't budge

if they intimidate

She'll be the life in flowers

Which blossom despite hate

She'll be the light in stars

Which shine through their raging fire

and do not dissipate
