Insatiable hunger.

Unfinished thoughts lurk.

The food I found, is full of folly.

For I moment, I eat it, and I feel almost-jolly

but the hunger rises like a sunrise, far too soon,

so then, I become as a squirmy squirrel,

chasing my own tail.

The seconds mock and talk.

Do sadness and hunger hold hands?

Do they mope and cope along the beaten footpath?

The hunger isn’t in my stomach at all,

it’s in my heart instead.
