Dear Insecurity,
Why must you question every move she makes?
The steps she takes move her towards a better self.
Why must you doubt everyone’s intentions?
She is loved, admired and respected by those who matter.
Why must you shadow her goals with doubt?
She is a strong woman capable of conquering impossible dreams.
Why must you challenge her beliefs?
She has a compassionate faithful heart that cannot be deterred.
Why must you always sneak in late, late at night?
The day has been so long and she has worked tirelessly.
Why must you continue to exist?
Despite her attempts to deflect you.

Stuck in Place
Amy whistled as she walked through her front yard, looking for any sticks she could pick up and throw into the pile she and her brother were making. They had a big windstorm recently; as such, all the trees in their yard had suffered some damage in some loss of sticks. Or perhaps losing those sticks was a good thing since their trees probably needed to be pruned anyway. Amy wasn't sure.
