Time and the sun have weathered this old mind
The body highlights every ache and pain
Complaints are silenced thoughts withheld behind
Lips shut closed, fight to speak your name again
The orchids still surround our empty bed
Their pleasant fragrance perfumes stories old
When you would always render this face red
Revealing your pearls, letting praise unfold
Soft sunlight painted you in golden hues
Inspiring novice brushwork to mature
Your silky amber hair collecting views
Warm tones uncover beauty’s fresh allure
Adventures you led highlight my life’s space
Awaiting life’s release to your embrace
