WEEK ONE

intrinsic introspection

Photo by Nik Shuliahin 💛💙 on Unsplash

Daily reflections

Long faces study their books

Hurriedly waiting

For silence to break

Lips pursed, she emotes

Sighs cloud his grimacing face

Together they speak

Hearing nothing said

Acrid loneliness

Thoughts drown in their crowded minds

Separately as one

Whispering shouts, “Why?”

He gives her the floor

She absconds with his anger

Words he never said

Now voiced by her tears

Strangers but for this

A chance meeting in treatment

Her story, his life

No clear meaning, shared

FINAL WEEK

cogitative connection

Photo by Alexei Scutari on Unsplash

Daily reflections

Intense looks of hopefulness

Casually forging

Vows to not speak first

She, on her seat’s edge

Trust belies his wounded wall

Counselor speaks

They spar for second

Wholly relating

Understanding crawls ahead

Together as two

Blurting hushed, “Go!”

He acquiesces

And leaps forward cautiously

Phrases she’d just thought

Spill through his exhales

Intimate allies

Yet still strangers nonetheless

His story, her life

Aspiration, shared
