In Times of Old We Sat

The Wonder of You

In times of old we sat with the stars

Looking at the ones who had descended to

Heaven and Earth.

We spoke of our journeys,

the lives we would live in the dust.

And then we parted to meet again in the palace of mud.

How beautiful it is to see you again

in the Beloved's heart.

To dance with you to the sound of music

and poetry.

In your eyes I see what I cannot buy or sell,

that which is perfect beyond all knowing.

Dance with me, my beloved One.

Our eternal dance around the moon continues

through yet another life.

My heart sings in the harmony of love

accompanied by your heartstrings.

Stir my heart again with your gentle touch.

Sing to me in a throaty voice,

the way you sang us from stars to dust

and back again.
