In These Eyes

When I First Saw You

I've been here before,

Time and again.

Falling into feelings,

Never meant to have been.

Then my eyes saw,

From that first time alone;

I knew that we were meant to be,

My heart was no longer my own.

The beauty of your golden hair,

So precious to behold;

You've taken and refreshed anew,

Past passions once seeming old.

The prettiness in your starry gaze,

Was such a sight to see;

I sense that you can't see the same;

but you're BEAUTIFUL to me.

Feet, please do not fail me now;

Carry me 'crost this room!

That I might TALK to this natural beauty,

And know for certain where this passion looms.

The beauty of that first conversation,

and now I know for sure;

Somewhere beneath your natural beauty,

is a heart that's pure...

Now I know this moment's right,

and good enough for me;

But one question remains to ask,

"Do your heart and mine agree?"
