In the Halls of Yesterday
A nostalgic poem that celebrates the precious memories of school life
In the halls of yesterday, we roamed,
Where lockers whispered secrets and laughter echoed.
Chalk dust danced in sunbeams, and desks held our dreams,
Oh, how we yearned for recess and the bell's sweet release.
The Playground Symphony
Remember the playground symphony?
The staccato rhythm of jump ropes,
The crescendo of basketballs against asphalt,
And the delicate notes of hopscotch chalked on concrete.
The Alphabet's Waltz
A, B, C – our steps in ythe alphabet's waltz,
Guided by patient teachers with chalk-stained hands.
We stumbled over Q, twirled with Z,
And pirouetted through spelling bees.
The Art Room Canvas
In the art room, we dipped brushes into rainbows,
Splashed colors onto canvases like wild imaginations.
Our fingers wore the hues of sunsets and galaxies,
And our hearts painted stories only we understood.
The Lunchtime Chronicles
Lunchtime was a feast of peanut butter sandwiches,
Shared secrets, and traded Pokémon cards.
We swapped tales of lost teeth and scraped knees,
Our laughter echoing off cafeteria walls.
The Library's Whispers
The library held its breath as we tiptoed,
Seeking refuge among shelves of dog-eared books.
We devoured adventures, whispered to fictional friends,
And discovered magic in ink-stained pages.
The Final Bell's Melody
And when the final bell chimed, we scattered,
Like dandelion seeds carried by the wind.
Our backpacks sagged with textbooks and treasures,
And we promised to meet again at dawn.
Now, in the quiet corridors of memory,
We trace our footsteps, our laughter, our tears.
For school was more than lessons and lockers;
It was the canvas where our hearts painted years.

I really liked going to school and did become a teacher before becoming a nurse. I tutored in the afternoon and would walk around the halls waiting for my student and the memories did come back and at times I think I heard the bell ring to go to class. Good work and a lot of memories.
Such a nostalgic poem. I loved the playground symphony and final bell's melody. Nicely written.
