IN SILENT CHORDS

Once when words had meaning
spoken from inside the heart,
people would share their feelings
in forms of poetry and art.
Living life to the fullest
because they knew no other way
singing songs that echo love
for those who dreamt of another day.

As they danced along carefree
with music which transcended years,
young enough to have belief
in a future bright and shining clear.
Dreamers of passionate romance
sailing from exotic distant ports,
whence ships did cross vast oceans
searching for rumors and reports.

So worlds might be discovered
where none were known to exist,
except in flights of fancy
unseen through swirling mists.
Obscured by doubt and mistrust
from those who would disbelieve,
passing judgement on hearsay
not by what may be achieved.

When people believe in each other
working towards a common goal,
one which promotes well-being
found as passion within the soul.
A symphony of endless love
shared by all who hear it's song,
grown old enough to understand
just what it means to belong.
