In Search of Love Lost to Time

Of whom few know yet

By Syed Arabi KhaliquePublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

To draw on a white page of the picture I love the most,

Would take me days and nights for the one I chose,

And the colors that would bring to her to life,

Against the Autumn wind will dry before winter arrives.

Journeys have been made for what has never been mine,

In search of the love lost to time.

As the page turns in a book to a new chapter,

I see the words written for me thereafter.

And in there I see the description, the wonderful rhymes

That brings to life for who my heart chimes.

Never was I a wordsmith before the crime,

But I became one in search of love lost to time.

In reality, words are vanishing in lieu of my heart's desire,

And I hear instead the music that sets my heart on fire.

For where words fail will the strumming of strings have said

The tale of how I painted the picture with the words I read,

Of who had been in the dreams of my mind,

When I was in search of love lost to time.
