In Love With Someone Else

That’s saddest part, the sad side of life

In Love With Someone Else

I saw the way you looked at them

The softness missing when with me

A quiet truth behind your smile

Too painful not to see

Your hands still touched me tenderly

Still whispered words beside my ear

Though your heart had crossed a distance

I could already feel it disappear

Love changes slowly when it dies

Not always through a scream or fight

Sometimes it fades in silent moments

Hidden gently out of sight

You stayed because you feared the damage

Feared the tears and what you’d lose

Though every part of you was drifting

Toward somebody else you chose

I hated them without a reason

Hated what I could not keep

Jealousy became my poison

A wound growing far too deep

Then one night truth finally surfaced

Like thunder breaking through the dark

You confessed what I already knew

Another name lived in your heart

I let you go with shaking hands

Though everything inside me bled

Some endings leave a body breathing

Still feeling emotionally dead

Now somewhere you are loving freely

While I rebuild what broke apart

Learning how to live without you

And carry this abandoned heart
