in her eyes

a poem; graphic imagery

if I stopped breathing tonight

would my shadows still dance around the house

prancing, crawling, and haunting

would I still whisper in your bed at night

or whimper

would you feel my skin against the back of your hand

anytime you felt angry

and when you start with another girl

will she feel me, too?

will she hear my voice

will she see me in the reflection of your eyes

warning and pleading

beckoning her to leave

will you see me in her eyes?

and more importantly

will it change anything if you do

will you turn around

drop your hand

get off

or will it just push you

to keep going.

~ ~ ~

This poem was inspired by the song "Wildflower" by Billie Eilish.

You say no one knows you so well

But every time you touch me, I just wonder how she felt

Valentine's Day, crying in the hotel

I know you didn't mean to hurt me, so I kept it to myself
