I hold your hand as we fall asleep

So that even in dreams

We’ll never let go.

In slumber we wander nightmares

and yet conquer our demons every night

to awake again in one another’s arms, victorious.

You are the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow,

one some men will only dream of

but I’ve made my reality.

You are a priceless treasure

that could launch a thousand ships.

The Helen of Troy that rules my heart,

a beauty that is all mine to behold.

A poem written for and dedicated to my most beloved, my wife Jackie.
