In Another Universe

Almost Ours

Somewhere in alternate universe

You are still here with me

An infinity ours never actualized

I wasn’t so afraid of loving you in this world

And you weren’t stuck in the grip of demons

We were the gratified versions of ourselves

We still shared our first kiss in a drunken mess

Slow, anxious, and a little clumsy

Full of the “love at first sight” bullshit people talk about

But it was exactly that and planted the seed for our life together

I graduated highschool and we finally moved away

As far as a suitcase and our heavy pockets could take us

We got jobs in a new city

One that didn’t drag us down or make us small

We married young and full of love

In this life we got our vast forever together

An infinity that our universe never actualized

I still wish we had received more time

Here in the crippling reality

Forever was a lot smaller than we planned

And I still cherish every second of it we had

Ive dreamt millions of lives with you

Trying to see more realities where you got to stay

Our life would have been so beautiful
