In a blue moon

Seven haikus of love, and one tanka.

Part One - The Old Love

---

Now that he is old.

He will send her messages,

Once in a blue moon.

Part 2 - An tAllmhurach (The one from Overseas)

---

"Over the seas, dear,

I send the moon with my heart,

full as our bright love."

Part 3 - Listening

--

Cobalt-silver waves,

he watches as he listens.

Waiting for her voice.

Part 4 - They Danced

---

Gratitude he sends,

Memories like bright sapphires,

Of young, precious love.

Part 5 - The Summons

---

"Come back to bed, love."

Her eyes are stars in the dark,

A queen's lapis touch.

Part 6 - They Amble.

---

Midnight blue shadows

Cloak them as she walks him home.

Her dreamer's hand held.

Part 7 - She hears

---

He sleeps in her arms

And she hears the words he sends,

Once in a blue moon.

---

And now, these years on,

These messengers still dancing,

Under a blue moon.

Swaying by the rushing tide,

To a secret inner tune.
